Lisle is a small village in the Chicago metropolitan area and it forms part of the DuPage County in the state of Illinois. Other attractions in Lisle are the Lisle Park District's outdoors village museum, Lisle Station Park and Four Lakes Ski Hill, a destination for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts in the area. The area is home to a number of schools, colleges and universities, including the Benet Academy and the College of DuPage, or COD, a two-year community college in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The Meteorology Department offers classes such as Severe Weather Lab, Unusual Severe Weather and Mesoscale Meteorology to train students to chase and forecast severe weather events. Many of these students have moved on to universities and beyond to staff such places as TV stations, the National Weather Service, Severe Storms Laboratory and Center for Atmospheric Research. Benet Academy is a college-preparatory, co-educational Benedictine high school overseen by the Diocese of Joliet. Admission to the academy is competitive and test scores determine who makes it and who doesn't. St. Procopius Abbey owns and operates Benet and many of the Benedictine community's monks have taught at the school.
